I love how when critiquing America, Europe/EU is referred to as united and one entity. Yet, they get very nationalistic when critiquing their neighboring European countries...Why is that? Maybe because your nation has no stand-alone relevance on the world stage?? Lol

I lived in Spain for a year and a half and traveled Europe and I found that some people don't like Americans because we are "loud", Disrespectful and don't even try to speak their languages and learn about their costumes. They thin we are NOT educated people. They think that we do not have social sills, specially in restaurants and hotels, They say that we forget that we are NOT in America any more and things don't work the same way there. Nathan, I think you got issues man, you feel uncomfortable ?

Social media and "reality" TV display a lot of the worst examples of Americans. The most vapid. It wouldn't be too exciting broadcasting people like me working, playing with their kids, lifting weights, drinking with friends. Rather the most extreme people are promoted for the rest of the world to see, because that's dramatic. And the people know they're being filmed, so they up the drama and stupidity. Not good representatives of Americans.

I imagine all the other 194 countries in the world, spend their weeknights watching all of America's issues aired out like dirty laundry on Pay-Per-View channels. Although they're told it's not real; it's advertised as horror and/or science fiction, but not as reality TV because they wouldn't believe that. Besides if they did say it was reality, it would brainwash their children's minds. Child - Those people in Duh!merica really aren't that stupid are they mom? Mother - Yes son because most of them are sheeple under mind control, but don't you worry honey the boogeymen are not allowed over here. "All the world's indeed a stage and we are merely players performers and portrayers each anothers audience beyond the gilded cage" Limelight by Rush "Welcome to the Grand illusion come on in and see what's happening pay the price get your tickets to the show The stage is set the band starts playing suddenly your heart is pounding wishing secretly you were a star But don't be fooled by the radio the TV or the magazine They show you photographs of how your life should be it's just someone else's fantasy" - Styx "When you're born in this world you get a ticket to the freak show but when you're born in America you get a front row seat" - George Carlin

the one woman thought racism is way worse than it really is!...IT IS SO MUCH less than in the 70s here ...there was "white flight " in hte 60s...when a single black family moved into town all the whites left...there wa s even a group that would plant blacks to drive out whites! black ansd white marraiges were unheard of ...now common even in rural counties and even accepted...we have slid backwards .however since president obama has used race to make a group victims again to make political gains

I just celebrated 16 years of US citizenship and will be moving to the UK later this year. Originally from Poland. Married to a Latino. It's so funny how every patriotic person fixates on their own (perceived) positive aspects and the (perceived) negative aspects of others. Everyone is right and wrong at the same time. If we're just teasing. But to be honest, there isn't a country on Earth that has no blemishes. 🤓

I think it's a very narrow point of view. Lots of people like Americans here. I certainly do. Many people from Europe I've met here also like Americans and like the British and come visit a lot. Sure there are stereotypes, but I feel like they're more commentary on American society and definitely nothing personal. As much as people make jokes that Americans are dumb, there are lots of things that people feel positively about towards Americans. For example, American people often have a charisma and forwardness that people appreciate.

In term of culture and History with all due respect , Middle East is the upper hand here ... Europe invaded and colonized the middle east inspired by the art and scienece that the Islamic world provided .. while Europe was in the dark ages , the Arab and the Islamic world were in their Renaissance AKA the golden age of Islam .... Middle east is the cradle of civilization and the melting pot for civilizations , cross road of the world. First civilizations ( mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt) , the first utilization of Agriculture and domestication of live -stock, the invention of writing, the birth place of the three abrahamic religion , the place where the old and new testiment took place, the Quarn was revealed here, most of the known prophets lived and buried here , even ''Eve'' the wife of ''Adam'' is believed that she burried in my hometown of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.. I went to Syria ( before the war ), Turkey , Egypt and Jordan. The ancient and the history of the places here are amazing and underrated due to geo-political scene.... so European shouldn't mock America of being new and has more history . Nothing wrong of being new . cheers.

This guy basically trying to say US culture (we actually have a gazillion cultureSSSS) is homogeneous is ridiculous. Hell, one large of my city is vastly different from the others. I pretty much have to speak one language all day in one part, and another language in another - and there are many other languages and other cultural divergences sprinkled throughout (Asian and Middle Eastern languages, French, French creole, all varieties of Spanish and Portuguese…). I can’t find the same products in grocery stores in different parts of town because of cultural diversity - even if the names of the stores are the same. Many, many, many towns and cities in the US are just like mine. This guy is WRONG.

If you think Japan is in Asia then you should think Britain is European, Iceland thinks they are part of Europe

More imports than anybody else And extremely wealthy A lot of people envy what America has achieved and there’s no doubt about it. You could argue current times are changing with new people in power and changes all the time that make it harder. But yeah how could anybody be hating The US has Culture let’s make that very clear. But yeah love the US❤

I lived in italy and spain most of my life but also in uk and Ireland. From the point of view of a southern european you can can immediately see there is an anglo-saxon world that has a distinct culture (or way of life) than the rest of Europe, because of the language , it's quite too obvious to us. When we say the americans have no culture we mean that they don't know how to eat or live, they don't have a long history. They are productive, practical and target orientated. they value results. But its probably wrong to say they have no culture. Most culture, such as films music, fast foods comes from the US. but a lot is commercial and trash so that makes us think americans have a trash culture which we buy. Halloween is one example a lot of people (especially old) complaining how we are adopting this american tradition. Then americans don't have much history, talking with european people who travel to US they some times they point this out with silly snobbery how you can't find any real old historic building etc. but probably because these old buildings are all we have to show off.

My husband & I lived in London for 2 years. We loved it! We met many beautiful Brits. But we did encounter some attitude. Many Brits really love to talk to us, it was great fun. But Brits, while having a wonderful sense of humor, would not laugh at themselves. There also seems to be some jealousy. It’s a different place that’s for sure. I didn’t understand situations occasionally, and rarely would a Brit explain. But I do love Britain! But they have some big issues that just don’t seem to be out in the open…..

Liked how honest this was. I truly believe a lot of people lost respect for the US during the george Floyd protests and seeing how much the police were clashing with its citizens. All of my family and friends in England always tell me they don't care to visit and don't understand why I live here because it's so violent. It's sad but I get why they think that. Plus with the mass s**tings. America has a lot of good but for outsiders looking in, the bad outweighs it.
